We're expanding and seeking experienced splicers to support our projects throughout the Maine area. This is a field-based position where you'll report directly from your home to assigned job sites — no office check-ins required. We're looking for techs who can handle splicing, testing, and troubleshooting across OSP, ISP, and aerial environments. If you thrive working independently, enjoy solving problems in the field, and are open to regional travel, this role is for you.
What You Will Do:
Perform fiber splicing, testing, and termination on a variety of networks and enclosures Review splice drawings, work orders, and schematics for accuracy Operate OTDRs, iOLM, fusion splicers, ribbon splicers, and power meters Accurately complete project documentation, test records, and deliverables Support jobsite crews, providing guidance and mentorship when needed Work directly with customers and project managers to meet expectations and deadlinesWhat You Will Need:
Prior hands-on experience as a Fiber Splicing Technician Strong understanding of single and mass fusion splicing, cable prep, and termination Ability to identify and troubleshoot fiber issues, including characterization and advanced testing Familiar with multiple OSP/ISP splice enclosures and common industry equipment Comfortable with basic computer functions and eager to learn new software (ARC/GIS, Telvent, Trimble a plus) Must be able to differentiate colors for accurate splicing Valid driver's license in good standing (CDL preferred but not required) Must pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and background check OSHA-10 certification (or ability to complete within 90 days, provided by company) Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as projects require Local to Maine, or planning to relocate to the area High school graduate or equivalent requiredWhat We Offer:
This is a travel-based role — you'll leave directly from your home in a company vehicle and head to the job site. exposure is heat, cold, dust, wet, vibration and very loud noise. Repeated and frequent ability to lift, from floor to above head 80 lbs continuously. Requires the ability to sit for extended periods, stand, bend, walk, communicate via telephone, computer and/or face-to-face contact, vision to monitor, and use basic office equipment such as a personal computer, copier, and fax machines regularly during the course of work.
