Job Description

Company Overview Radiation Safety & Control Services (RSCS) is a dedicated provider specializing in radiation safety, measurement applications, and radiological services across various industries. Established in 1989, our team offers expertise in decommissioning, health physics consulting, instrument calibration, and specialized radiological assessments to ensure safety and compliance. Overview We are seeking a motivated Calibration Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing precise calibration of radiation detection equipment. Your expertise will ensure our clients' safety standards are met through meticulous testing and adjustment of complex systems. Essential Functions Perform calibrations of instruments using sources of radiation and standardized procedures. Perform customer service on technical advice (as needed and qualified). Document calibration results, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Comply with all safety and security related procedures and policies specific to the instrument calibration laboratory. Initiate condition reports (CRs) when deviations from corporate SOPs, SAPs or policies, or other conditions are observed. Assist in maintaining calibration laboratory equipment and keeping the workspace clean and organized. Adhere to safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment during calibration processes. Communicate calibration findings and equipment status to supervisors and other team members. Secure and document Restricted Area closing at the end of the day (locking sources). Perform quality control (source decay checks, area surveys etc.). Assist in training class preparation for instrumentation and shipping. Assist in supply inventory tracking. Protect company confidential information; release to other RSCS staff and outside contractors only, on a need-to-know basis. Perform offsite surveys and leak tests with report generation as needed. Assist in shipping dept (initialization, stickers, packing) as needed. Assist in general housekeeping of instrument calibration laboratory as needed. Perform battery disposal and recycling as needed. Perform additional duties as requested by the Lab Manager. Skills Integrate procedure & policy compliance into actions.
Effective analytical skills problem-solving skills:
ability to perform measurements in various units and convert them, ability to read measurement displays on a wide variety of radiation detection instruments. Ability to perform math calculations. Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office Software, Microsoft Projects and RSCS and discipline specific software applications. Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with colleagues and individuals inside and outside the Company. Effective organization skills including the ability to prioritize and plan work. Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task. Exhibit initiative and resourcefulness. Work effectively in a team environment. Exercise professionalism. Safety focused at all times. Pay:
$24.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
