Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Vibration Test Technician will assist in setting up, conducting, and documenting vibration testing for Valcor Space products. Collaborating with Engineers, they'll assist in designing fixturing, integrating new products, perform vibration testing, and report results to verify product quality in a fast-paced production lab environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Operate Electrodynamic Vibration systems as well as pneumatic systems to test the manufacture quality and overall dynamic response of valves, valve systems, and components. Use basic hand tools to set up and run vibration and pneumatic testing of Valcor Space hardware. Read and interpret technical documentation, such as procedures, drawing, and process travelers, appropriately. Ensure test software is properly programmed to meet test requirements. Work with Valcor Dyanamics Test Engineer to understand dynamic concepts and product behavior. Use critical thinking and understanding of troubleshooting steps to adjust and perform tests accordingly. Create detailed documentation of all testing performed. Employ Lean Manufacturing principles and initiatives if/when necessary Maintain a well organized and functional vibration lab Troubleshoot, repair, and/or report any equipment in need of repair to supervisor or applicable engineering group. Fulfill additional job duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, maintenance, and company policies and procedures Working knowledge of vibration testing and applicable industry standards Actively participate in relevant team meetings, improvement programs, and initiatives to contribute to the achievement of company objectives. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels Maintain a clean, secure, and well-maintained work area. Complete special projects, miscellaneous assignments, and related duties as needed. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand and work with technical documentation. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow procedures while maintaining a detail-oriented workflow. Ability to drive and execute against a delineated test schedule Effective verbal/written communication skills required for interacting with all levels of personnel within the organization. Computer literate, with MS Office experience and basic PC skills
Physical Requirements:
Must not have vision impairment beyond usage of corrective lenses. Often required to stand, squat, sit, bend, turn, balance, and move freely within the facility and around equipment to handle parts and set up tests. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. All candidates must meet the US persons criteria.
