Job Description

A Senior Instrument Technician is a skilled professional responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of complex industrial instrumentation and control systems. This role requires advanced technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Core Responsibilities Installation & Calibration:
Assembles, installs, tests, and calibrates electrical wiring, control panels, and associated components for manufacturing systems, automotive equipment, or other devices.
Instrumentation Maintenance:
Performs preventative maintenance inspections, diagnoses issues, cleans, lubricates, and adjusts instruments as needed.
Troubleshooting & Repair:
Identifies and resolves faults in industrial instrumentation such as level, flow, pressure, temperature, position, and water analysis meters.
Testing & Safety:
Conducts functional, safety, and startup testing; ensures compliance with safety standards and procedures.
Documentation:
Keeps accurate work logs, prepares reports, and maintains records of maintenance, repairs, and equipment performance.
Inventory & Planning:
Orders and manages inventory of parts and tools; plans daily work schedules and ensures materials are available. Typical Work Environment Operates in industrial, manufacturing, water treatment, or environmental monitoring settings. May work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments requiring quick decision-making . Often works under general supervision but with increasing independence as a senior role.
Education & Experience Education:
High school diploma or technical certificate; associate's or bachelor's degree in engineering, instrumentation, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
5+ years as an Instrument Technician; 8-12 years in industrial field with at least 3 years in water/wastewater treatment (WWTP).
Certifications:
ISA certification, GMP experience, or related military electronics experience may be preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial instrumentation. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and P&IDs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively. Strong customer service and team collaboration skills. Safety-conscious mindset with ability to handle electrical hazards.
Pay:
$35.00 - $40.00 per hour
