We work with residential, commercial, industrial, and government clients, delivering safe, code‑compliant, and reliable systems. We are seeking a Gate Automation & Access Control Assistant who is mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and ready to support our technicians and project teams. Position Summary The Gate Automation & Access Control Assistant supports the installation, service, and maintenance of automated gates, operators, access control devices, and safety systems. This is an ideal role for someone who wants to enter the gate automation field, gain hands‑on experience, and grow into a technician role. Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation Support Assist with installing gate operators, access control devices, safety sensors, and related hardware. Help run conduit, pull wire, and mount components under the direction of a lead technician. Support the setup of keypads, card readers, intercoms, and wireless access devices. Digging, trenching and mixing concrete for pedestal and pads. Occasional welding of operator arms and minor bracing Service & Maintenance Assistance Help troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical issues. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication, tension adjustments, and safety checks. Assist in documenting service findings and completing work order notes. Safety & Compliance Support UL 325 and
ASTM F2200
safety compliance procedures. Help test entrapment protection devices, travel limits, and emergency release functions. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Technical & Administrative Support Assist with inventory, parts pickup, and material staging for upcoming jobs. Help maintain accurate records of equipment, serial numbers, and installed components. Use mobile apps or digital forms to support documentation and reporting. Answering phone and other administrative tasks Customer & Team Interaction Communicate professionally with customers while on‑site. Support lead technicians with setup, cleanup, and jobsite coordination. Participate in training sessions to build technical knowledge and certifications.
QualificationsRequired:
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn electrical/low‑voltage systems Ability to use basic hand and power tools Strong attention to detail and safety awareness Ability to work outdoors and lift 50+ lbs Valid driver's license and clean driving record Preferred but not required: Experience with gates, access control, low‑voltage, or related trades Familiarity with brands such as LiftMaster, DoorKing, HySecurity, Maximum Controls, etc. Basic understanding of wiring, conduit, or troubleshooting Compensation & Benefits $17
