Full Job Description Overview:
Calspan's Transonic Wind Tunnel is the only independently owned and operated wind tunnel in the United States. Our staff is known for its flexibility and responsiveness to our customers' needs. Customers appreciate this approach, as it enables them in real time to refine test programs. We are looking for an experienced and versatile Technician to join our team! This is a great opportunity to be part of an organization with a rich 75-year history that prides itself on its Be Calspan Values. Please note, this is a 3rd shift position.
Responsibilities:
Support testing by efficiently operating equipment and ensuring accurate results and records. Provide support in the resolution of technical problems. Perform set-up and installation of equipment, instrumentation, cable routing, soldering and checkout before, during and after the test. Support the maintenance, installation and repair of test lab and equipment to maximize operational availability. Document test procedures and installations. Provide guidance with data calculation.
Qualifications:
Preferred Education /
Experience:
AAS Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar in related discipline 3+ years in related discipline or; A combination of education and experience equivalent to above Preferred Knowledge /
Ability:
Troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems Electrical and electronic principles Perform operations and execute test procedures for engineering, scientific, or real-time data acquisition Read and interpret engineering plans and specifications Testing and inspection principles and procedures Microsoft Office Why join Calspan?
