Job Description
- ELIGIBLE
CANDIDATES MUST BE PERMANENT IN THE CIVIL SERVICE TITLE 'RADIO REPAIR MECHANIC' OR HAVE RECENTLY FILED FOR THE RADIO REPAIR MECHANIC
EXAM, #6093- The mission of the New York City Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in New York City by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law, preserve peace, protect the people, reduce fear, and maintain order.
- provide, maintain, and enhance all forms of police radio communication from portable hand devices to Vehicle-Integrated radio systems
- installation, repair, and maintenance of portable and mobile radios
- installation, repair, and maintenance of various critical low voltage systems across NYPD facilities
- ensure the functionality and readiness of mobile command centers, equipping them with state of the art communication technology
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Work location specified is for primary vacancy in Queens. To be eligible for an interview, the candidate must have either passed the current civil service examination, or registered for the upcoming examination, which is scheduled to be administered later this year.
