In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of aquarium systems, caring for diverse marine and freshwater species, and supporting the overall health of our aquatic exhibits. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create captivating displays that inspire wonder and curiosity in visitors of all ages. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of aquarium tanks, filtration systems, and related equipment to ensure a pristine environment. Monitor water quality parameters such as pH, temperature, salinity, and oxygen levels using specialized tools including ohmmeters and other testing devices. Troubleshoot and repair aquarium equipment, including pumps, heaters, lighting, and filtration units, to maintain seamless operation. Assist with the installation and setup of new aquatic exhibits, ensuring all systems are correctly calibrated and functioning properly. Feed and care for aquatic species according to established protocols, observing behavior for signs of illness or stress. Maintain detailed records of water quality tests, maintenance activities, and animal health reports to support ongoing care efforts. Follow safety procedures diligently when handling electrical equipment or chemicals to ensure a safe working environment. Prior experience working with aquatic systems or in a similar technical maintenance role is highly desirable. Familiarity with water testing tools such as ohmmeters or multimeters is a plus; ability to interpret electrical readings is beneficial. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly and implement effective solutions. Knowledge of aquatic animal care standards and best practices for maintaining healthy environments. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for documenting procedures and collaborating with colleagues on system improvements.
