Equipment & Shop Mechanic

Company Description The Schwab Companies in Delevan, NY operates a multi generation dairy farm where we milk over 1000 dairy cows & farm over 2000 acres. In addition, we operate a full-service gravel quarry & trucking company that services the Western NY market. Our trucking enterprise, TL Schwab Transport, is a growing local trucking company specializing in aggregate hauling, feed & grain hauling, tanker hauling, refrigerated hauling & other regional freight We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Equipment and Shop mechanic to oversee the maintenance, safety, and compliance of our trucking fleet and various other equipment. This position ensures that all trucks and trailers operate efficiently, safely, and in accordance with DOT regulations, while minimizing downtime and repair costs while helping maintain an efficient & smooth workflow within our shop & parts department. Position Description The Equipment and Shop Mechanic would work closely with the Equipment & Shop Manager. The mechanic would be responsible for working through service schedules, preventative maintenance, assisting in emergency repairs & special projects.

Duties would include:

• Service scheduling
• fluid checks, grease levels, tire change, brake repair, wear & tear repair, air hose line replacements, etc.
• Following a preventative maintenance schedule on all of the equipment
• Trailer and Chassis Maintenance and Repair
• Assisting in emergency repairs
• Special projects consisting of diagnosis and repair of engine, transmission, emissions, cooling, electrical, heat & cooling, frame/chassis, brakes, suspension, & pto components. Minimum Requirements
• Be open to a full-time work schedule with flexible seasonal demands & emergency calls
• Be open to set shift schedules (6am
• 4pm, 12pm
• 10pm, 6pm to 6am)
• Have an ability to coordinate, collaborate, schedule & work with others
• Possess an ability to manage a systems process & design an operational structure
• Good attitude & have the ability to change
• Have 1-3 years of heavy-duty equipment or truck, repair & maintenance experience
• In addition to equipment repair experience, have 1-3 years of welding and/or electrical work experience
