Webster, New York job type: Contract salary: $24.28 - 34.00 per hour work hours: 3pm to 12am education: Associates responsibilities: Perform detailed fiber preparation, including coating removal, cleaning, stripping, cleaving, and securing fibers into ribbons using specialized fixtures.

Execute single-fiber and mass fusion splicing and connector termination, working carefully with delicate, high-density optical assemblies.

Evaluate fiber end faces, splice quality, and overall workmanship using optical microscopes, and document key test data such as splice loss.

Support prototype builds, development runs, and qualification samples while assisting engineering teams with fixture validation and troubleshooting.

Maintain a clean, highly organized, and safe laboratory or manufacturing workspace in compliance with chemical and optical fiber safety guidelines.
