for the 0647. Assistant Supervisor – Equipment position.
Detailed Description Duties:
Supervises Part-Time and Full-Time Hostler, Equipment Servicer, Starter/Yard Person, Body Mechanic, Equipment Maintainer, Heating and A/C Mechanic, Equipment Electrician, Equipment Repair Leader, Material Handler and Material Handler Leader. Administers safety procedures and policies throughout the district Facility. Schedules coaches for maintenance, repairs and cleaning. Interacts with outside vendors, traffic control, dispatchers, maintenance, and stores personnel. Coordinates vehicle status with starters to ensure pull out is made daily. Will be required to perform QA audits according to the SOP from Quality Assurance, and ensure all SOP's are followed by the employees. Assists Equipment Manager with selected tasks when requested. Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required. Works overtime as necessitated by operational needs.
Job Requirements Minimum Requirements:
Applicants must have a high school diploma or its GED equivalent. Applicants must have completed technical high school or post high school courses in vehicle maintenance and repair. Applicants must have at least four (4) years previous experience maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical systems on buses, which should include engine repair, transmissions, fuel injection system, brake system, steering and suspension. Applicants must have a valid Ohio State Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A or B, with passenger and airbrake endorsements.

This person will work predominantly in an office type environment.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for up to 8 or more hours a day. The employee is frequently required to see, hear and speak. The employee may be required to work at a computer for more than 5 hours a day.
Mental Demands:
Reading, watching, studying, observing, focused listening, auditing, inspecting, proofreading, evaluating. Ability to give, receive and analyze information, prepare written materials. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures and data.
Examination Information:
Candidates selected to participate in the hiring process will be notified of the exact time and place of the examination. The examination process will consist of four (4) parts: ASE testing (Pass/Fail), Management Readiness Profile (no weighting), interview, and record evaluation. Weights for a final score will be assigned as follows for internal candidates: ASE Testing (Pass/Fail), Management Readiness Profile (no weighting), Interview 50%, Record Evaluation 15%. Candidates must attain a minimum of 70% on all parts of the process, except 60% on the interview portion, to move forward in the process. Internal candidates must meet all record evaluation criteria in order to gain the 15% weighting. Records evaluation information includes a review of the following: 5 or more absence occurrences 2 or more AWOL or absence control suspensions 3 or more active written reminders (regardless of the level) 5 or more misses (regardless of whether they are active or not active) 4 or more active tardies Drug or alcohol suspension Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) suspension Active Decision-Making Leave (DML)
