Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Building Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. This role is essential in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our building interiors and exterior infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC expertise, demonstrating a proactive approach to maintenance and repair operations. Responsibilities Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems including HVAC, electrical equipment, plumbing, and facilities equipment. Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues utilizing schematics, electrical equipment repair techniques, and tools such as ohmmeters. Conduct welding and carpentry tasks to support structural integrity and interior improvements. Maintain building interior surfaces through painting, plastering, and other finishing tasks to uphold aesthetic standards. Repair and service plumbing systems, including maintenance of pipes, fixtures, and drainage to ensure proper operation. Operate hand tools and specialized equipment safely while adhering to safety protocols. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and maintenance documentation for accurate repairs. Lead or assist with maintenance painting projects for residential or commercial spaces. Support the installation, inspection, and repair of HVAC systems to ensure optimal climate control. Provide excellent customer service by addressing maintenance requests promptly and professionally. Assist with maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) activities to optimize facility performance. Document completed work accurately in maintenance logs for accountability and future reference. Skills Extensive knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in building automation systems. Proficiency in welding techniques and electrical work with experience in electrical system troubleshooting. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with plumbing system maintenance and repair. Familiarity with HVAC system repair, including diagnosing issues within heating, ventilation, air conditioning units. Ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and facility layouts effectively. Experience with electrical equipment repair using tools such as ohmmeters; understanding of electrical safety standards. Competence in using hand tools for various maintenance tasks including carpentry and painting. Excellent communication skills in English for clear reporting and customer interaction. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to coordinate team efforts during complex repairs or projects. Knowledge of facilities maintenance best practices for building interior upkeep and overall facilities management. Experience working with maintenance painting—both residential and commercial—to enhance space aesthetics. Familiarity with MRO (maintenance, repair & operations) procedures for efficient facility management. This position is integral to maintaining a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment.
