Ability to provide excellent customer service and manage electronic data systems efficiently. Strong mechanical skills and performing tasks with your hands to solve problems is required. This position works independently and in a team to accomplish service related tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs quality, first time repair of customer returns including correct completion of all associated paper work and documentation. Provides professional, courteous customer telephone support on service/repair questions. Demonstrates personal competence to repair ATUS product to the component level. Demonstrates initiative to learn and improve technical and communication skills. Performs repair on all wireless systems, microphones, headphones, mixers, turntables, and all other ATUS products Provides technical support for all ATUS departments as necessary Provides training assistance as required to ATUS employees Repairs product rejected by Quality Control (QC) process Processes credit returns of all AT product Processes parts orders as needed Enters and tracks repairs/credits of service transactions Provides technical expertise to all service departments and customer inquiries Performs data entry, receiving, packing, and shipping duties for Service. Management has the right to assign or reassign duties & responsibilities to this job at any time as dictated by the needs of the Company.
Skills and Knowledge:
Mechanical Abilities Comfortable with the use basic hand tools and is confident with disassembly and reassembly of mechanical and electrical assemblies. Can read and identify components on exploded-view diagrams. Capable of determining mechanical failures during visual inspection. Electronic Theory Knows basic electronic theory as it pertains to electronic repair and possesses moderate to advanced troubleshooting skills. Can identify all electronic components on a PCB or subassembly when referencing schematics. Can identify all components on a schematic and explain how they are used in a circuit. Can reference available documentation to determine potential causes of a failure and formulate a troubleshooting plan. Can follow schematic and block diagrams to determine failures on a component level. Soldering - Desoldering Skills Possesses basic to advanced soldering skills. Can identify potential assembly issues during visual inspection. Can confidently repair/replace most component level parts, cables, and connectors with little instruction. Test Equipment and Measurements Intermediate knowledge in the use of all common test equipment such as digital multimeters, communications analyzers, mixers, oscilloscopes, AF/RF generators and other network, RF, audio test equipment and software (Audacity, Bluetooth testing, Wireless Manager, Dante, Firmware updating tools, etc.). Repair knowledge Is knowledgeable, confident, and skilled in repairing past/current product of two types with some experience in at least three AT product types. Has the ability to read customer complaints and determine likely causes of the failure using test equipment and documentation. Capable of replacing most component level parts and all PCB's, sub-assemblies, housings, elements, connectors, and cables for all product types with instructions, if necessary.
Education and Experience:
2-4 years technician experience required. Minimum high school diploma Formal electronic/technical degree, military training or work-related equivalent experience is preferred for mid level position. SMD-level soldering skills required. Proficient understanding of receiver/transmitter circuits and theory. RF Test Equipment Experience Excellent customer management and telephone skills. Ability to read and interpret specifications and product documentation and follow written procedures required. Proficient use of spectrum analyzer, RF generator, oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, and audio test equipment. Troubleshooting experience and problem isolation to the component level Computer literate including Microsoft Office/Excel and ERP experience required
