Job Description

Responsible for maintenance and repair of MODU electronic control and support systems, electronic components and component interface systems. Monitors all rig electronic systems operation and troubleshoots and repairs as necessary for operations. Provide technical support for electronic systems to ensure achievement of rig efficiency and client objectives. Provide specific focus on systems that will keep maintenance operations running effectively and avoid down time. Implement and uphold safety and environmental compliance requirements. Assist the Technical Supervisor with effective maintenance procedures and ensure that the Noble Maintenance System is effectively utilized. Assist the Electrician and Subsea Engineer as directed by the Technical Supervisor to support on-going operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Recognized trade qualification from technical college/apprenticeship or equivalent preferred. 5+ years of demonstrated or documented experience as an Electronics Technician on a MODU. Completion of all training requirements for the position within designated time period. Preferably experience in Drilling automation (MMC, NOVOS & MCDT) Preferably experience with NOV Drilling Equipment Superior troubleshooting skills and techniques. Strong leadership skills and the ability to coach, motivate and mentor others to and develop their skills and knowledge. Strong written and verbal communication skills; the ability to understand and interact with diverse groups and operations and to recognize and resolve conflict.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Install, maintain and repair all electronic equipment onboard the rig. Ensure that all incomplete repairs and maintenance projects are finished in a safe manner, within the scheduled time frame, accurately, and in an efficient manner in order to keep the backlog of work to a minimum. Ensure that equipment failure is kept to a minimum and within contractual limits. Ensure that entries on permits, isolation tags and logs accurately reflect the current status of equipment. Perform regular inspections of work sites and ensure the work is being done within the confines of the permit. Ensure tracking of all programmable logic controls and software versions and update as required. Ensure that a high standard of housekeeping is maintained onboard the rig in all work areas. Maintain good two-way communication with crew members. Participate in the development of newly appointed team members. Other duties as assigned.
HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL
Implement and uphold Noble's safety policies and procedures. Ensure that all operations proceed in a safe manner. Correct and notify responsible parties of any unsafe acts and/or conditions which exist. Encourage and motivate personnel to observe safety and environmental policies and all intended and implied requirements of Noble's Management System. Responsible for familiarizing and adhering to Noble's Live Safe Code for the purpose of promoting a zero-incident and no-harm workplace. Responsible for familiarizing and utilizing Noble's Hazard Identification Tool to manage risk created by various energy sources found in the workplace. Attend and actively participate in daily pre-tour and weekly safety meetings. Ensure compliance with the requirements established in Noble's Management System. Initiate a safety stand down whenever an unplanned hazard or change in the expected results is observed. Perform all Safety Critical Tasks as detailed in the HSE Case. Incorporate the STOP the job planning process into all tasks, whether working alone or as part of a team. Take the initiative to perform emergency duties without specific orders or instruction. Develop and implement Job Safety Analysis and prepare hazard assessments as required. Responsible for compliance with all government regulations.
