Security Technician I Job Description:
We are a high-tech company in the fastest evolving part of the building sciences, the Internet of Things (IoT), which connects devices to people via Ethernet, WI-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. We are a company who proudly supports and gives back to our communities and it all starts with our technicians. The Security Technician I is a professional position that installs, modifies, repairs, and maintains: temperature control systems, access control systems, CCTV systems, fire alarm systems, nurse call systems, overhead paging, burglar alarm systems, etc. Experience is not required in all systems we install. Installs and configures intrusion, fire, CCTV, and access control security systems. Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, which can include drilling, trenching or aerial runs. Complete all wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that security systems are complete and satisfy customer and contractual requirements. Assists and interfaces with the Installation Team Lead or Project Manager regarding on-site scheduling of work activities and timely delivery of equipment. Conducts tests to ensure all newly installed systems and component devices are operational. Troubleshoots new system installations to ensure proper functioning and to ensure system meets local, county, state or federal codes; legal and/or insurance requirements. Presents a professional image both in personal and vehicle appearance. Performs work assignments in a safe manner and within specified time limits. Promotes, builds, and maintains good customer relations and assists with contract retention. Maintains company property and documentation in accordance with established policies; handles proprietary information in the prescribed manner; Adheres to and supports company policies and procedures including all safety requirements. Keeps abreast of changes and new developments in products and technology. Attends and completes training programs as requested.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent Vocational/Technical Degree in electrical, security, or computer systems preferred Access Control and CCTV license required. If you're close and have your hours documented we can work with a highly qualified technician who's looking to take the exams to advance their career. Holding commercial burglar alarm and/or Fire Alarm is a plus. AMAG, Lenel, Pro-Watch, Bosch, Salient and certifications preferred Bosch or DMP system knowledge preferred Silent Knight, Fire lite and Potter fire alarm system knowledge preferred IP Video and IT experience preferred Ability to work on-call on a rotational basis covering after hours & weekend emergency calls.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to climb ladders that extend up to 24 ft. in height Must be able to carry items up to 75 pounds frequently, bending, crawling, working in small spaces as needed, crouching, standing up to 95% of the time. Must be able to work in different weather conditions, including heat, cold, etc Ability to work on-call on a rotational basis covering after hours & weekend emergency calls.
Additional requirements:
A valid state driver's license, without restrictions, is required. Must be able to pass a background and Drug screen A high school diploma or equivalent is required
