FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Tulsa, Oklahoma | Full-Time, On-Site | 30%-50% Travel About Maccor Maccor designs and manufactures high-performance battery and cell testing systems at our headquarters in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Since 1987, our equipment has supported customers working at the forefront of battery research, development, manufacturing, and product innovation. Our systems are manufactured in Tulsa, and we are proud to work with local vendors and build long-term, sustainable relationships. About the Position Maccor is seeking a Field Service Technician with a strong background in electronics and troubleshooting. In this role, you will work directly with customers to install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and support some of the most advanced battery testing systems in the world. This isn't a typical field service position. One day you may be troubleshooting equipment in a battery research laboratory, and the next you may be installing a system at an automotive, aerospace, university, or government facility. Our customers are diverse, the technology is challenging, and the work is rarely routine. The ideal candidate is technically capable, customer-focused, comfortable working independently, and able to systematically diagnose electronic hardware and software problems. This position requires approximately 30%-50% domestic and international travel and reports to the Manager of Customer Support. What You'll Do Support Customers & Troubleshoot- Provide technical support for Maccor battery test systems by phone, email, and on-site at customer facilities.
- Troubleshoot electronic hardware, software, and system-level issues.
- Perform in-house testing to reproduce and diagnose customer issues.
- Provide timely, professional communication and technical support to customers. Install, Calibrate & Train
- Install and commission new Maccor battery test systems at customer sites.
- Perform system calibration and verification.
- Train customers on system operation, software, and basic troubleshooting.
- Perform approved software and hardware modifications in the field and in-house. Support Service & Engineering
- Assist other field service technicians and engineers as needed.
- Prepare quotes for parts, repairs, and on-site service visits.
- Assist hardware and software engineering with new product and software testing.
- Prepare technical documents, service reports, expense reports, and other required documentation in a timely manner. What We're Looking For
- 2- or 4-year degree in electronics, electronics technology, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Strong electronic troubleshooting, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Experience using electronic test equipment and hand tools.
- Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of battery testing systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of frequency response analyzers is a plus.
- Must be a U.S. citizen because access to certain government facilities is required.
- Possess a valid driver's license and be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally. Physical & Hiring Requirements
- Ability to safely lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and work around equipment as required during installations and service visits.
- Ability to work in customer laboratories, manufacturing environments, and other industrial or technical facilities.
