We operate an integrated production process that begins with raw material and flows through cutting, burning, forming, and drilling before advancing to fit-up and weld-out. Finished products proceed to the paint shop, followed by final assembly, quality control, and delivery to the customer. Our internal service department provides full-cycle repair and maintenance capabilities, handling everything from the back of the cab to the end of the trailer. Service offerings include custom hitch fabrication, axle replacement, repair and service, and diagnosis and repair of faulty trailer systems across electrical, hydraulic, structural, and mechanical components. Position Overview The Service & Repair Technician is a skilled professional responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of a wide range of trailer types and systems. Candidates for this role typically bring a background in manufacturing fabrication and fitting, and are expected to flex into production support as needed to meet customer demand. This position requires technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality and safety to ensure trailers operate at peak performance and meet customer satisfaction standards. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Perform detailed inspections and diagnostics on trailers to identify issues and malfunctions and determine appropriate repairs. Conduct repairs and servicing on a variety of trailer components, including electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, suspension, and structural elements. Perform custom hitch fabrication, axle replacements, and axle repair and service. Diagnose and repair faulty trailer systems, covering all components from the back of the cab to the end of the trailer. Test repaired trailers to verify that all issues have been resolved and that the trailer meets safety and performance standards. Maintain accurate time records, job notes, and parts tracking for all repairs, maintenance, and service activities. Flex into production fabrication and fitting as needed to support manufacturing output and meet customer demand. Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company safety policies and applicable industry regulations. Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and quality. Perform other related duties as assigned to support team and production goals. Skills and Abilities Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and structural trailer systems. Hands-on experience with welding, fabrication, and fitting, with the ability to apply these skills in both service and production environments. Familiarity with diagnostic tools, hand tools, and specialized repair equipment. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to think critically and resolve complex mechanical issues. Ability to maintain accurate records of service activities, parts usage, and job notes. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced shop environment. Education and Experience Minimum of 2 years of experience in trailer service and repair, preferably with logging, heavy haul, or similar equipment. Minimum of 1 year of experience in welding, fabrication, and fitting. High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent combination of experience and training will be considered. Minimum Job Requirements Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal background check. Successful completion of a pre-employment weld test.

Full-Time, Non-Exempt Compensation:
Starting at $25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. Additional Information Personal tools are not required for this position. Work Environment This position is performed in a manufacturing and service shop environment and requires regular exposure to welding fumes, heat, loud noise, and heavy equipment. Employees are expected to adhere to all applicable safety standards and must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times while in the facility or storage yard, including safety glasses, hearing protection, welding gloves, and face shield where applicable. Footwear must be work boots with a minimum 1/4-inch sole that fully cover the foot and ankle. The work environment is subject to varying temperatures consistent with an industrial shop setting. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, reach, and use hands and arms to handle materials and operate tools and equipment. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
