Automated Systems Technician Bethlehem, PA 18020 $20.90 - $24.20 an hour - Full-time $20.90 - $24.20 an hour - Full-time About the Role As an Automated Systems Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the peak performance of advanced robotic material handling environments. You will leverage your technical expertise to monitor automated adapters, troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, and ensure seamless system throughput in a fast-paced industrial setting. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive pre-production inspections to verify that all automated hardware is fully operational and ready for high-volume processing. Optimize system efficiency by monitoring inbound and outbound flows, ensuring throughput targets are consistently met. Utilize Human-Machine Interface (HMI) software to diagnose system stoppages, perform rapid recovery, and restore normal operations. Execute preventive maintenance tasks, including component cleaning, lubrication, and tolerance validation to maximize equipment longevity. Perform hands-on upkeep of robotic units, including sensor calibration, wheel replacement, and electrical system diagnostics. Maintain clear communication with operational leadership regarding production bottlenecks and equipment health status. Execute complex robotic vehicle recovery procedures, often working within restrictive environments to ensure minimal downtime. Qualifications Required Skills Minimum of 1 year of experience working with mechanical automation or complex robotic systems. Proficiency in performing technical system inspections, including electrical measurements and mechanical tolerance checks. Demonstrated ability to work independently, following detailed technical manuals and safety protocols. Physical capability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varied temperature environments while utilizing necessary PPE. Strong multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks to maintain maximum system uptime. Preferred Skills Associate degree or relevant technical certification in electronics, automotive, or industrial automation. Prior experience in a high-volume warehouse or automated manufacturing environment. Familiarity with Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) and fall protection safety standards.
