Job Description

Electronics Test Technician Job Description This position focuses on testing, troubleshooting, and validating Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and related electrical equipment to ensure performance, safety, and compliance with specifications. You will work on 1st shift in a clean, production-oriented environment, performing functional tests, inspections, and documentation while collaborating closely with engineering and production teams. Responsibilities Perform functional testing and validation of BESS units and associated power systems. Follow detailed test procedures, engineering specifications, and electrical schematics during all testing activities. Conduct electrical and mechanical inspections before and after testing to verify product quality and safety. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to wiring, components, and overall system performance. Use test equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to evaluate system performance. Document test results, measurements, deviations, and defects accurately and in a timely manner. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify root causes and resolve technical issues. Perform electrical and mechanical assembly work as needed, including wiring, harness assembly, crimping, and soldering. Work with circuit boards, PCB assemblies, and related electronic components during testing and troubleshooting. Assist with calibration and proper use of test equipment to maintain accuracy and reliability. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company standards. Adhere strictly to all safety standards, procedures, and company policies while working with electrical systems and tools. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience in electrical testing, troubleshooting, or a closely related field. Proficiency in using electrical test and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and other test instruments. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams accurately. Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and power distribution concepts. Hands-on experience with electronics testing, electrical assembly, and electronic assembly work. Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for electrical and electronic systems, including circuit boards and wiring. Ability to perform mechanical and electrical assembly tasks, including harness assembly, crimping, and soldering. Basic computer skills for data entry, test documentation, and report completion. Strong attention to detail and thorough documentation practices. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods while working at a steady pace. Work Environment You will work in a clean, organized production environment where you can maintain a steady pace throughout the day. The role is on 1st shift, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The position involves regular use of electrical and electronic test equipment, hand tools, power tools, and computer systems for data entry and documentation. Work includes both electrical and mechanical tasks, such as wiring, harness assembly, soldering, and handling PCB assemblies. The dress code requires long pants, such as jeans or khakis, along with appropriate attire suitable for a technical production setting, while following all safety and personal protective equipment requirements. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethlehem, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
