Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Instrumentation and Calibration Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide array of instrumentation systems and control equipment. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of complex machinery, sensors, and control systems, contributing to the efficiency and safety of our production processes. Responsibilities Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation devices including sensors, transducers, and control valves to ensure optimal performance. Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and AutoCAD diagrams for system installation and troubleshooting. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and vision inspection systems. Troubleshoot electrical issues using precision measuring instruments such as ohmmeters, multimeters, and calibration tools. Conduct field service activities on high voltage and low voltage systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Support manufacturing operations by diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in automation equipment like CNC machines and calibration systems. Collaborate with engineering teams to develop schematics, update documentation, and improve instrumentation layouts using AutoCAD or similar software. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, calibration data, and system modifications to ensure regulatory compliance. Assist in the integration of new instrumentation technology including sensors, vision systems, and Calypso software for process optimization. Provide excellent customer service by supporting internal teams with technical expertise in instrumentation troubleshooting and repairs. 95% of our work deals with the water and waste water industry Qualifications Proven experience as an industrial electrician or instrumentation technician within manufacturing or industrial environments. Strong knowledge of hydraulics, mechanical systems, sensors, calibration techniques, and schematics interpretation. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), CNC machinery, and vision inspection systems. Familiarity with high voltage (HV) and low voltage electrical systems along with safety protocols related to electrical work. Proficiency in reading technical drawings using AutoCAD or similar software; experience with Calypso is a plus. Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as ohmmeters for troubleshooting electrical circuits. Knowledge of industrial maintenance practices including preventive maintenance schedules and field service procedures. Experience working with sensors, calibration tools, high voltage systems, and automation equipment in manufacturing settings. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical expertise to troubleshoot complex machinery issues effectively. Military background or experience is considered an asset due to disciplined approach to safety standards and technical training requirements. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to diverse teams.
