Job Description
Car Wash Repair Technician Supervisor (In-Bay Automatic & Self-Serve Systems) Position Summary Fast Lane is seeking a motivated and experienced Car Wash Repair Technician Supervisor to oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and coordination of projects related to self-serve and in-bay automatic car wash equipment. This position combines hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities and requires strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working with PDQ Manufacturing and Istobal systems, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and wash control components. We are looking for someone who takes pride in operational excellence, equipment reliability, cleanliness, and customer experience. This role is based in the Harrisburg/Hershey, Pennsylvania area and consists of approximately 75% field/on-site work and 25% shop/office work. All locations are within a short driving distance of each other. Equipment Maintenance & Repair Diagnose and repair issues on in-bay automatic and self-serve car wash systems Perform preventative maintenance on pumps, motors, hydraulic systems, air systems, chemical delivery systems, bay equipment, and electronic controls Troubleshoot electrical systems including relays, contactors, sensors, PLCs, VFDs, and low-voltage controls Maintain wash quality, uptime, and operational efficiency across multiple locations Respond to emergency service calls as needed Supervise and support junior technicians and mechanics PDQ & Istobal System Support Service and troubleshoot PDQ and Istobal wash equipment and associated systems Understand wash controller logic, programming, calibration, and fault diagnostics Coordinate warranty repairs, manufacturer updates, and technical support interactions Assist with equipment upgrades, retrofits, and new installations Project & Maintenance Coordination Organize and manage preventative maintenance programs Coordinate planned project work including equipment upgrades, plumbing modifications, electrical improvements, and site enhancements Prioritize repair schedules and communicate timelines effectively Track inventory, parts usage, and maintenance documentation Assist in developing standardized maintenance and repair procedures Leadership & Communication Lead and mentor technicians and site personnel Communicate professionally with management, vendors, and operations teams Provide clear updates regarding equipment status, repair timelines, and site needs Maintain accurate maintenance records and project documentation Promote safe work practices and maintain a clean, organized work environment Qualifications 3+ years of experience in car wash equipment maintenance or a related industrial/mechanical field Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities Experience with PDQ and/or Istobal equipment preferred (training available for the right candidate) Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals Strong organizational and communication skills Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects Valid driver's license with the ability to travel between locations Preferred Skills Experience with self-serve car wash systems and in-bay automatic equipment Knowledge of air compressors, vacuum systems, pay stations, payment systems, and water treatment systems Experience using preventative maintenance software or service tracking systems Welding, fabrication, or light construction experience is a plus Strong computer and inventory management skills Ability to work independently while collaborating with a larger operations team Core Traits We Value Strong troubleshooting mindset Dependability and accountability Organized and detail-oriented Calm under pressure Team-oriented leadership Pride in workmanship and site appearance Forward-thinking approach to preventative maintenance and operational improvement Positive attitude and willingness to learn
