In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic access control systems. Your expertise will ensure proper operation of access control systems, and related low-voltage electrical systems. Responsibilities Install, configure, and test access control systems, including door security system integration and remote access software. Troubleshoot and repair access control systems and gate operators Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and electrical wiring diagrams to accurately install and maintain equipment. Conduct routine inspections of low-voltage electrical wiring, cabling, sensors, and gate operator equipment to ensure optimal performance. Perform system upgrades and modifications based on client needs or technical advancements in security technology. Provide technical troubleshooting support for gate and access system issues both on-site and remotely. Maintain detailed documentation of installations, repairs, system configurations, and service reports for compliance and future reference. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools for equipment installation and maintenance. Proficiency in computer hardware setup, network configuration, and telecommunication systems related to access infrastructure. In-depth understanding of system design principles for access control systems. Ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret low-voltage electrical wiring diagrams. Experience with system installation including low-voltage wiring, cabling techniques, and door system integration. Familiarity with remote access software platforms used for managing access systems remotely. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or non-technical stakeholders. Prior service technician experience in physical or electronic security systems is highly desirable. Capable of working with various hand tools and testing equipment necessary for troubleshooting complex electrical issues. Must be a self motivated and not mind digging and running conduit/wire as needed. Join us to be part of a growing company that is putting our first crew in Raleigh.
