We provide position-based clothing, travel expenses, training and additional materials needed on a case-by-case basis. Instrument & Electrical Technician Essential Duties The following examples of duties and responsibilities illustrate the general range of tasks assigned to the position but are not intended to define the limits of required duties. Assemble and test motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, solenoids, and other electrical equipment and components. Diagnose the cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and perform preventative and corrective maintenance. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant controls and monitoring instrumentation. Develop wiring diagrams, layout drawings and engineering specifications for system or equipment installations, modifications, or expansion. Rebuild, repair, and calibrate control valves, actuators, positioners and in-line pressure regulators. Plan, direct, and record periodic electrical testing and initiate modification or replacement of equipment. Calibrate analog signal generating equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, pressure transmitters, temperature transmitters, flow transmitters, analytical transmitters, and process controllers. Work with IE planner to develop repair plans. Instrument & Electrical Technician Qualifications Incumbents must have demonstrated knowledge and abilities in these areas. Requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) to five (5) year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associate degree preferred ISA Certification preferred. Electrical Journeyman s License preferred. Basic computer skills including functionality in Microsoft Office suite of applications. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume and apply concepts of algebra and geometry. Frequently required to lift/carry up to 50 Frequently required to push/pull up to 100 pounds. Must meet vision requirements including near distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception. Must have the ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including standard issued PPE and respiratory devices. Instrument & Electrical Technician Work Environment Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Participate in on-call after hours rotation. This position may require the employee to be able to work a 12-hour rotating shift including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required and based on production needs, the company reserves the right to change or modify the schedule.
