Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Instrument Technician, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and sterility of medical instruments used in patient care. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with surgical teams, supporting infection prevention and control protocols. Your expertise will help maintain the highest standards of sterilization, decontamination, and instrument handling, contributing directly to patient safety and healthcare excellence. Duties Perform detailed sterilization and reprocessing of surgical instruments, including endoscopes and other medical equipment, following strict aseptic techniques and infection control guidelines Assemble, inspect, and package sterile medical instruments with precision to ensure readiness for surgical procedures Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies and medical instruments, ensuring accurate tracking and timely replenishment Conduct thorough decontamination procedures, including cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of complex medical devices Maintain meticulous records of sterilization cycles, instrument usage, and inventory logs to ensure compliance with healthcare standards Follow established protocols for infection prevention management and adhere to healthcare infection control practices at all times Collaborate with healthcare teams to facilitate smooth instrument handling during surgeries and procedures Experience Proven experience in sterile processing or medical instrument assembly within a healthcare setting Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to surgical procedures and instrument use Familiarity with medical terminology, equipment operation, and endoscope reprocessing techniques Expertise in infection prevention management, including aseptic techniques and infection control standards Ability to manage inventory efficiently while maintaining compliance with sterilization protocols Prior experience with surgical instrument sterilization, handling, and packaging is highly desirable Excellent attention to detail combined with a proactive approach to maintaining safety standards in sterile processing environments
Pay:
$34.61 - $41.68 per hour
