OSP Fiber Splicer

OSP Fiber Splicer ACP Fiber Services is a national provider of professional communication services to the telecommunication and utility industry for network infrastructure buildouts and ongoing network maintenance. We are looking for a Fiber Splicer for full-time work out of our Columbia, SC office.

Job Responsibilities:

Drive a company splice truck/van to be dispatched to various sites for new deployments and troubleshooting the network. Splice single mode and multi-mode fiber optics. Troubleshooting DWDW, CWDW and SONET fiber links with OTDR and OCC equipment. Splice in multiple types of enclosures and FDP's. Ability to splice both underground and aerial. Splice in midsheath and ringcut enclosures and extensive knowledge with ring topology. Work day and or night shifts and occasional overnight travel. Work as a team with other technicians and NOC personnel and report to field supervisors/managers. Work in a fast paced and changing environment that requires problem solving abilities and extreme attention to details.

Minimum Requirements:

Must have at least 5 years' experience using a fusion splicer, an OTDR, and light meter. Must be able to read prints and other types of engineering documents. Must have the ability to install, terminate & test low voltage cables Must be able to work day or nights with occasional overnight travel. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills Must be very conscientious, accurate, detail oriented and self-motivated. Must be proficient with Internet and MS Office applications Must be able to lift 60 lbs. and climb a ladder. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions

PTO & Holiday Pay Compensation:
