Job Description

We are looking for:
Maintains, reconditions, repairs, troubleshoots, adjusts, constructs, and upgrades various types of mechanical & electrical equipment and systems assigned using the skills, tools, equipment and materials made available to him. Individual is to report to Maintenance Superintendent, but will determine his day to day work assignments via self assigned work orders and advice from the Maintenance Coordinator. The I/E Engineering Technician will be working with other maintenance technicians, production technicians, engineers, production coordinators, production specialists, outside contractors, and many times independently.
We count on you for:
Utilize the CMMS to set job tasks based upon direction from the Maintenance Coordinator, including closing work orders on a routine basis. Work with Production Technician, to trouble shoot maintenance issues with equipment. Assure that proper turn back of equipment is conducted upon completion of a maintenance task, including housekeeping, equipment set up and documentation processes. Assure tools and equipment used is properly maintained, cleaned, serviced, stored and inspected. Maintain plant equipment to maximize plant's performance. Understand the plant's equipment operations such as: steam boilers and water feed systems, cooling towers, afterburner, reactors, scrubbers, agitators, motor control centers, starters, transformers, switch gear, lighting and control panels, DCS & Triconex process control equipment. Know how to switch the boilers and afterburner from gas to oil firing. Perform maintenance check on the Afterburner and Oxide Scrubber per permit requirements. Know and understand the plant's fire protection systems, process systems, computer systems, telephone system, scales, instrument calibrations, carryout the ISO instrumentation procedures and maintain their records. On call as scheduled and in the event of a major equipment issue. Design, maintain, and execute assigned MIMM systems on time and with correct documentation. Administer plant Electrical Hot Work and Arc Flash program under the oversight of the maintenance Superintendent. Follow all site safety rules and procedures. Demonstrate through daily actions that reinforce the corporate values; a personal commitment to a safe, healthy and environmentally sound workplace. Employ safe work permit practices and procedure for all work performed, assuring the proper practices are followed. Safely operate hand and power tools, light equipment, and heavy equipment used in the trade. Assess maintenance activities to assure each task is safely conducted. Participate in hazard assessment programs as requested ( e.g.
PHA, LOPA, MOC
review, What If, PSUSR etc.) Responsible to maintain a quality management system that meets the requirements of the
ISO 9001 2008
standard. Focus efforts in four areas which include Safety, Customer Focus, Excellence and Continuous Improvement, and Sustainability. Advanced trouble shooting skills including failure investigation, focused upon electrical and instrumentation.
Basic skills and knowledge in:
General maintenance. Electrical system design and function, and electrical code requirements. Electrical wire, communication wire, electrical equipment installation Conduit, grounding and bonding, wiring, and electrical equipment installation. Instrumentation equipment design, application, repair, calibration, installation, certification and functional limitations. PLC, DCS, Triconnex, controller layout, and structure including I/O module installation and configuration Read and understand single line diagrams, ladder diagrams, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, motor control centers and electrical panel layouts, conduit runs, maintenance repair manuals and specification sheets. Familiar with the common types of electrical devices that operates plant equipment.
This includes:
motors, starters, control panels, circuit breakers, push button switches, grounding, extension cords, lighting, regulators, relays, solid state boards, etc. Operations of test instruments used to calibrate plant equipment.
ISO 9000
application of instrument calibration and record keeping requirements. Use of all types of maintenance tools, machinery and other equipment for used to maintain the facility. General awareness in pipe fitting, millwright, rigging, masonry, fabrication, and machining disciplines. Fabricating simple parts (e.g. bracing, bollards, holders, railings, brackets) Risk assessment and reduction processes. Job, planning, scheduling and materials acquisition including contractor planning and coordination. Training techniques and procedure development.
You will get:
Competitive salary and benefits package The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $34.22 per hour. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range.
