What you can expect as an Accessories Technician atWest Star:
This position includes varying amounts of inspection, troubleshooting, adjustments, repairing and performing overhauls and testing accessory components. This will also include general tasks related to the maintenance and repair of landing gear, systems and components on a variety of engines, using personal protection equipment according to manufacturer's specifications, in a safe and clean work environment. Duties also include preparing and signing off on various documents for "Return to Service" and recordkeeping purposes. Will be required to work with products and materials associated with component maintenance. You will beESSENTIAL

including: Perform overhauls or repairs on a wide variety of different airframe components. Perform overhauls or repairs on Challenger, Hawker, Learjet, King Air Landing Gear. Troubleshoot and assist in repairing / inspecting different airframe components. Utilize and consistently learn new procedures on approved overhaul / repairs. Work as a team player and assist co-workers as needed. Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling when required. Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management What you'll need to bring with you:Your Education:
A High school diploma or equivalent is required. An Airframe and Powerplant license or associates degree in aviation is ideal. Previous experience as a mechanic is required A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.Your Initiative:
We're looking for team players who are self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common.Your Sense of Responsibility:
Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments. Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work. Must have reliable transportation to get to work each and every day. Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines. all company and safety rules during performance of duties. Maintain customer-oriented work habits. Other particulars: Physical Requirements Lifts 50 lbs. Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting. Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands. Climb ladders and stairs, work in small, restricted areas Standing for long periods of time. Mental Requirements Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines. Troubleshoot or evaluate system operation. Work with others in a professional manner. Supervision Work under supervision of assigned Team Leader and Director of Maintenance. May be directed to supervise other technicians in some capacity. Working Conditions Work is performed in a hangar environment subject to extreme temperature variations from very cold to very hot. Work outside during aircraft runs can occur. Varied positions in and around the aircraft. Equipment Used Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic. Pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical equipment. Jacks, stands, lifts and other support devices. Tugs, power carts and other engine powered equipment.
