Temp RPM Staffing is seeking detail-oriented Fiber Optic Polish Operators in McKinney, Texas! This role is responsible for the precision polishing of fiber optic connectors to meet strict industry standards for geometry and optical performance, including Insertion Loss and Return Loss. The well qualified candidates will have strong hand-eye coordination, excellent attention to detail, and experience working in a manufacturing or cleanroom environment. Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate automated polishing machines using abrasive films (diamond, silicon carbide, etc.) and lubricating fluids
Load fiber optic connectors into polishing fixtures, ensuring proper alignment and pressure to prevent damage
Perform manual polishing touch-ups as needed
Clean connectors and ferrules using approved solvents while following cleanroom and contamination-control protocols
Inspect fiber end-faces using microscopes and interferometers to verify quality and specifications Identify and document defects using automated inspection systems and image analysis tools
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of polishing equipment and replace worn materials
Accurately record test data, production quantities, and lot numbers in MES systems or production logs
Complete production documentation and ensure traceability through proper labeling and recordkeeping
Follow all safety, quality, and EHS policies, including PPE requirements and lockout/tagout procedures
Work with production, quality, and shipping teams to meet customer requirements and deadlines Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong hand-eye coordination and ability to handle delicate fiber optic components
Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and optical specifications
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED preferred
1+ years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or packaging environment required Work Environment
Fast-paced manufacturing setting with cleanroom and ESD-controlled areas
Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift
Use of microscopes and precision inspection equipment
Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Regular collaboration with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams Physical Requirements
Ability to work under magnification for extended periods
Strong fine motor skills for handling small, delicate components
