Job Description
About the RoleWe are seeking an Automation Controls Engineer to support the design, development, and deployment of industrial automation systems. This role is well suited for an engineer with solid controls experience who is ready to take on greater responsibility while continuing to learn and grow in a collaborative, project-based environment.
What You Will DoDevelop, program, test, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLC platforms such as ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and MicroLogixCreate and modify ladder logic, structured text, and function block routines following established standardsSupport system commissioning activities, including onsite startup and troubleshootingAssist with automation upgrades, system improvements, and post-installation supportProgram and support industrial robots (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, or similar), with guidance as neededIntegrate robotics, vision systems, and third-party equipment with PLC and SCADA environmentsSupport robotic applications including assembly, material handling, packaging, and custom automationPerform robot teaching, path adjustments, and cycle-time optimizationCollaborate with vendors and integrators on panel builds, robotic integration, and SCADA developmentApply applicable standards such as

with guidance from senior engineersSize and select motors, drives, sensors, safety devices, and automation componentsSupport the design of electrical control panels, including schematics, layouts, and component selectionCreate and maintain technical documentation including wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and build instructionsAssist panel build technicians during fabrication and assembly as neededIntegrate PLCs, HMIs, robots, sensors, drives, and related automation equipmentImplement and support industrial networks and communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, PROFINET, and EtherCATFollow safety, regulatory, and machine-guarding requirements throughout project executionWhat You BringRequired Qualifications4+ years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineeringHands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLC programming using Studio 5000Working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical or similar toolsExperience with control panel design and industrial electrical systemsFamiliarity with industrial wiring practices and automation hardwareAbility to troubleshoot automation issues in manufacturing or production environmentsBachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related fieldStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teamsPreferred QualificationsExposure to SCADA systems such as Ignition, AVEVA Edge or InduSoft, FactoryTalk View, Wonderware, or similarExperience developing or supporting HMI interfaces such as PanelView or comparable platformsFamiliarity with machine safety standards includingISO 13849, NFPA
