Job Description

Job Overview We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fiber Splicer to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional integrity and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Key Responsibilities Fiber Splicing :
Perform precise splicing of both single fiber and ribbon fiber cables up to 864F.
Documentation & Reporting :
Interpret splice schematics, prints, maps, and work orders. Maintain accurate daily production records and as-built documentation.
Equipment Handling :
Set up various enclosures such as Preform Coyote Closures, FOSC 450D, and
FOSC 600
cases.
Testing & Quality Assurance :
Conduct fiber optic cable testing using OTDRs and other relevant test equipment.
Scheduled Cutovers :
Work night shifts as required during scheduled cutovers and system changes.
Emergency Support :
Participate in an on-call rotation for outages and emergency situations.
Qualifications Field Experience :
Proven experience in field service, specifically in fiber splicing.
Technical Expertise :
Strong understanding of telecommunication systems, splicing techniques, and cabling methods.
Equipment Proficiency :
Ability to operate bucket trucks and other industry-specific machinery.
Physical Capability :
Skilled in climbing and working in various field conditions, including construction sites.
Licensing :
Must have a valid driver's license and be comfortable driving to various job locations.
Safety Awareness :
Demonstrated experience working safely with hand tools and adhering to site-specific safety protocols. Additional Requirements Must have experience working in
BACKBONE
fiber for telecommunication companies. Must be available for night shifts and on-call rotations. Strong communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in varying weather conditions and challenging environments. Minimum of 6 months fiber splicing experience required to apply. Must be at least 21 years of age to apply.
