We are seeking a hands-on Testing Engineer with an excellent engineering foundation in Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Materials Science and Solid Mechanics. The ideal Test Engineer should understand the basic theory behind the test and have the mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills to safely carry out the test. Plan, Execute and Document ongoing tests Take ownership of safe working habits and provide leadership to the test team on working safely Maintain test equipment and facility. Understand and participate in the NCR process for determining the root cause of problems. Assist to implement corrective actions.
Qualifications and skills required:
Education:
Bachelor's (Required) - in ANY Engineering or Engineering Technology 0-2 years HPHT testing experience. Proficient in CAD (Solidworks preferred) Mechanically / electrically inclined - Someone who has worked on cars, equipment, or has the ability to fix things is preferred. Demonstrated ability to formulate a design of experiment. Demonstrated understanding of how temperature, volume and pressure are related.
• Strong understanding of: Hydraulic/ Pneumatic Systems and Components Data Aquisition Systems Mechanical Drawings per
ASME Y14
Component dimensional inspection techniques and methods
• Ability to take detailed notes during training or performing job duties.
Other Attributes:
Attitude and personality: Candidates must show a willingness to learn on and off the job with a desire for continual improvement of themselves and their workplace. The candidate must show good attention to detail as well as a strong ability to follow written and verbal instructions. We need HIGH energy candidates.
Mathematics:
The candidate must know how to use a scientific calculator, understand addition, subtraction, multiplication, trigonometry, and some basic algebra.
Physical:
You must be able to lift 45lbs to chest level. You must be prepared to stand during work hours.
Problem solving:
The candidate must be prepared to solve problems with the help of shop leadership. Good communication skills are necessary.
Computer skills:
A basic ability to use Windows computers or menu driven operating systems must be demonstrated. Previous experience with Labview is highly desired.
Cad/Cam:
Solidworks, autodesk inventor or fusion 360 experience required, 2+ years experience in cad - will be tested to ensure knowledge of software
Computer:
You must know how to use spreadsheets and have some knowledge on logic and basic programing of any system.
Troubleshooting:
you will be asked to demonstrate an ability to troubleshoot electromechanical/hydraulic systems.
Responsibilities:
Assist with testing planning and scheduling. Develop detailed knowledge of API 6A PR2F and
ISO 15848
Create work instructions and procedures under direction of the Test Lab Manger Assist Test Lab Manager with the NCR Process. Determine the root cause of failure when testing results deviate from expected outcome. Create test set-up detailed drawings Assist Technicians with test set-up, execution and tear down Assist with planned and unplanned maintenance of testing equipment Assist with testing documentation under the direction of the Test Lab Manager Assist with maintaining equipment calibration readiness under the direction of the Test Lab Manager Participate in and demonstrate leadership in safe work practices
