Following
ANSI/AMMI
guidelines, assists in maintaining and preparing surgical instrument trays for the Operating Room and general Nursing Units, according to specifications. Assists maintaining and updating surgical count sheets. Follows proper sterilization and disinfection procedures, and aseptic techniques.
Required Skills:
Ability to provide excellent customer service Ability to work in a team environment. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Ability to perform mathematical calculations. Basic computer literacy and keyboarding skills. Ten-key data entry skill. Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Required Experience:
Work Experience One year of related work experience preferred. Certification/License/Registration Must obtain one of the following certifications within 12 months of hire: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or Provisional CRCST preferred. Education and Training High school graduate or equivalent. Current enrollment in an accredited Sterile Processing Program required or Completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant or Sterile processing
