KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Install and rig marine electronics and accessories on boats.

Install and configure:

GPS and chartplotters Fish finders and sonar systems Trolling motors Shallow-water anchors Marine stereo and audio systems VHF radios Marine radar Batteries and battery management systems Battery chargers Power distribution and electrical components LED and navigation lighting Trim tabs Pumps and other electrical accessories Perform electrical wiring, connections, terminations, and routing. Troubleshoot and diagnose marine electrical and electronic systems. Read and understand wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer installation instructions. Program, configure, and test electronics after installation. Verify proper operation of all installed equipment before the boat is delivered to the customer. Diagnose and repair existing electrical and electronics problems. Maintain clean, organized, and professional wiring installations. Ensure wiring is properly secured, protected, and routed. Work closely with the Service Department and Parts Department to obtain necessary equipment and parts. Communicate with service advisors and management regarding job status, parts requirements, and issues discovered during installation. Complete installation and repair work in a timely and professional manner. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed. Follow manufacturer installation procedures and dealership quality standards. Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Previous professional experience installing marine electronics and/or marine electrical systems. Strong knowledge of 12V marine electrical systems. Ability to troubleshoot electrical and electronic problems. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail. Ability to perform clean, professional-quality installations. Good mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Valid driver's license. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Preferred:

Experience working in a marine dealership or boat service department. Experience with multiple marine electronics manufacturers. Experience rigging new boats. Experience with trolling motors, shallow-water anchors, sonar, GPS, radar, and marine audio systems. Experience with NMEA 2000 and marine networking. Experience with lithium battery systems and modern marine power systems. Factory training or certifications in marine electronics.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for someone who already knows marine electronics and can hit the ground running . The successful candidate should be able to take a boat, determine what equipment needs to be installed, complete the installation correctly, troubleshoot problems, and ensure everything is working properly before the boat leaves the dealership. A clean installation is extremely important. Wiring should be neat, properly secured, protected from water and vibration, and installed in a way that allows for future service. The right candidate takes pride in their work, works efficiently, and understands that the quality of their installation directly impacts the customer's experience with their new boat.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work primarily in a marine dealership service environment. Work on new and used boats from multiple manufacturers. Regularly use hand tools, power tools, electrical testing equipment, and marine-specific installation equipment. Position requires standing, bending, climbing in and out of boats, reaching, and working in confined spaces. Must be comfortable working around boats, trailers, marine engines, batteries, and electrical systems.
