Job Title:
Senior Mechanical & Robotics Maintenance Technician (Temporary) Job Description This role leads a team of service technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment. You will support operations by troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, and robotic systems, designing practical solutions for challenging technical problems, and managing maintenance projects that keep high-volume warehouse and distribution operations running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Lead a team of service technicians in the installation and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment. Perform advanced mechanical maintenance and repair on a wide range of automation and material handling systems. Carry out electrical maintenance and repair activities to ensure reliable operation of equipment. Troubleshoot electronic systems and components to quickly identify root causes of equipment issues. Support robotics operations by maintaining, calibrating, and repairing robotic systems and related automation technology. Interpret and work from mechanical, electrical, and electronic schematics to diagnose and resolve equipment problems. Execute preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Design and propose solutions for difficult maintenance and reliability problems within the facility. Manage maintenance-related projects, including planning tasks, coordinating with team members, and following up on completion. Perform fabrication and assembly work as needed to support equipment installation, modification, and repair. Collaborate closely with operations and other maintenance team members to prioritize work and maintain high equipment availability. Work safely in an industrial warehouse and distribution environment, following all safety procedures and best practices. Essential Skills Hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance and repair of industrial or automated equipment. Proficiency in electrical maintenance and repair, including working with industrial systems and components. Strong skills in electronic troubleshooting, including the ability to diagnose faults in electronic control systems. Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and electronic schematics. Experience with robotics maintenance or as a robotics technician in an industrial or automation setting. Background as a maintenance technician in warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environments. Demonstrated capability in preventive maintenance on automated or industrial equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in fabrication, including basic metalwork or component fabrication to support repairs and modifications. Assembly experience related to mechanical and automation systems. Previous exposure to automation systems used in packaging, distribution, or material handling operations. Ability to lead, mentor, and support a team of technicians during shift operations. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to design practical solutions for complex maintenance challenges. Comfort working around industrial equipment and automation technology in a fast-paced environment. Why Work Here? You will work as part of a collaborative team of up to 17 technicians on a shift, coordinating activities to support operations. The role involves working in and around active industrial areas with automated packaging, distribution, and robotic systems, requiring consistent attention to safety procedures and awareness of moving equipment. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, with regular use of tools, machinery, and diagnostic equipment appropriate for mechanical, electrical, and electronic maintenance work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Hutchins, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $42.65 - $42.65/hr.
