Job Description

Job Description We are seeking Fiber Technicians to join a team that will support the stand-up of a data center. This individual will play a critical role in launching projects, leading field teams, and ensuring high-quality fiber installations in fast-paced, large-scale data center environments. This role requires strong experience in structured cabling/fiber deployments and experience in a data center environment.
  •  Perform fusion splicing of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling using Fujikura and/or Sumitomo splicing equipment.
  •  Prepare, clean, and splice fiber optic cables while maintaining strict quality standards.
  •  Conduct OTDR testing, insertion loss testing, and end-to-end fiber certification.
  •  Read and interpret fiber schematics, splice matrices, network drawings, and construction documents.
  •  Install fiber backbone cabling, patch panels, splice enclosures, and cross-connect systems within active data center environments.
  •  Troubleshoot fiber connectivity issues and identify signal loss, damaged fibers, or network faults.
  •  Perform fiber labeling, cable dressing, and pathway management in accordance with customer and industry standards.
  •  Accurately document splice results, test reports, and as-built records.

  • 3+ years of fiber optic installation experience
  •  Must have completed a data center project (est. time frame 1 year)
  •  Working experience with Fujikura and/or Sumitomo as splicing tools
  •  Working experience with OTDR
