Composite bonding Technician

Preferred Experience FAA Part 145 Repair Station experience, specifically in bonding/composite environments Hands-on experience with aircraft component-level repair and overhaul Ability to read, interpret, and navigate technical data, including OEM manuals and engineering drawings

Required Technical Expertise:

Bonding & Composite RepairComposite Repairs Perform damage assessment and removal in accordance with approved data Execute step sanding and scarf sanding techniques Perform honeycomb core fitment and replacement Conduct proper surface preparation for bonding applications Work with resins, film adhesives, and prepreg materials Perform wet layup and prepreg layup processes Execute vacuum bagging procedures Operate curing equipment including ovens, autoclaves, and hot bonders Perform trimming and final cleanup of completed repairs Metal-to-Metal Bonded Repairs Remove damaged material and prepare structure for repair Fabricate skins and doublers per engineering requirements Perform honeycomb core fitment as required Execute proper surface preparation and adhesive application Perform layup and bonding processes Conduct vacuum bagging and curing (oven, autoclave, hot bonder) Complete trimming and post-repair finishing Assembly Remove existing fasteners without damaging surrounding structure Install fasteners in accordance with engineering specifications and torque requirements
