Job Description
Job Overview RAM Energy Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and motivated LACT Meter Proving Technician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and proving of LACT Units used in oil measurement processes. Your expertise will help maintain precise measurement standards, support operational efficiency, and uphold safety protocols. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced automation systems, troubleshoot complex equipment, and contribute to the integrity of fluid measurement operations across the facility. Responsibilities Perform calibration, verification, and proving of LACT meters to ensure measurement accuracy in accordance with industry standards and company procedures. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems associated with LACT meters and related equipment. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues associated with the LACT Unit and Small Volume Piston Prover using electrical schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), electrical blueprints, and schematics; resolve problems related to sensors, controls, and instrumentation. Utilize precision measuring instruments. Maintain detailed records of proving results, maintenance activities, troubleshooting steps, and system modifications for compliance and quality assurance purposes. Collaborate with company leadership and clients personnel on programming in control systems such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) to optimize equipment functionality. Ensure all work complies with electrical safety procedures, lockout/tagout protocols, and industry regulations for low voltage electrical systems. Maintain adequate care of provided company vehicle, prover, and equipment. Requirements Proven experience in LACT Unit proving (strongly prefer experience operating a piston prover). Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatic systems, mechanical maintenance, and industrial automation processes. Familiarity with electrical instrumentation reading, calibration techniques, sensors, P&IDs, schematics, electrical blueprint reading, and electrical safety procedures. Experience working with LACT Units, control panels, sensors, and low voltage electrical systems. Ability to perform equipment maintenance efficiently. Strong problem-solving skills complemented by experience in equipment troubleshooting within the oil and gas environments. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and stakeholders. Field service experience preferred; familiarity with ProveIT or similar software is a plus.
