This role's primary job responsibilities include supporting the Production team maintenance needs, installing and troubleshooting power distribution centers, switchgears, motors, controls, process controls and instrumentation; and, communicating progress and status of work orders and projects to key stakeholders. The Electrical Maintenance Technician will frequently interact with shift teams, support team members and the mechanical maintenance team to support the Production budget. Essential Functions
  • Believes in the "Safety First" philosophy and complies with all safety standards. Actively participates in safety programs and is a safety advocate.
  • Supports the electrical and instrumentation maintenance needs of plant in terms of troubleshooting, corrective actions, modifications, and new installations.
  • Provides electrical maintenance services, including working with drives, motors, breakers, starters, and switch gear.
  • Provides instrumentation services including troubleshooting, configuration, installation, documentation, checkout, and commissioning of instrumentation and valves.
  • Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs systems integrated with PLCs and a DCS.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and troubleshoot electrical/instrumentation circuits required.
  • Conducts preventive maintenance using documented procedures when scheduled.
  • Monitors equipment performance and implements improvements to deliver the productivity and budget requirements of the plant and shift operation.
  • Responsible for fully understanding and supporting the technical requirements of the processes and products.
  • Support special projects such as start-ups and trials.
  • Maintains instrument as-built documentation.
  • Work with production technicians and mechanical maintenance as a team to reach production goals.
  • Interacts with company resources and vendors as needed to meet and resolve issues.
  • Manages personal workload to maintain effectiveness and productivity. Communicates progress and status of work orders and projects to required personnel.
  • Meets all company safety policies and adhere to housekeeping expectations.
  • First or second shift with on-call responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
  • Expertise in electrical equipment, distribution and instrumentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization both written and verbal; includes building relationships with manufacturing managers, supervisors, technicians and third-party vendors.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems, troubleshooting and programming required
  • Experience with motor controls/drives required.
  • Demonstrated strong mechanical electrical repair/troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in electrical repair and instrumentation operations.
  • Functional knowledge of mechanical components.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team completing objectives efficiently with a sense of responsibility.
  • Must be available to work any shift up to and including a shift rotation bases as needed.
  • Ability to safely complete tasks associates with the essential job functions.
These tasks may include extensive climbing, walking, lifting, bending, standing, carrying and squatting. Owns a personal set of tools adequate to perform all job requirements.
