Job Description

Join a team dedicated to supporting mission-critical environments as a Critical Systems Technician II specializing in UPS battery systems. Based in Sterling, VA, this hands-on, field-based role offers the opportunity to work on essential infrastructure that powers data centers and other high-reliability facilities. The position is a 6-month contract with the potential to become permanent, providing strong long-term career prospects. Technicians will gain valuable experience in battery installations, preventative maintenance, and safety procedures, all while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities Assist with the installation and replacement of UPS battery systems at customer sites Support preventive maintenance and service tasks to ensure system reliability Follow method of procedure (MOP), safety protocols, and critical facility guidelines Utilize hand tools and diagnostic equipment for testing and maintenance Collect and record test readings and service data using a laptop Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites Collaborate with other service teams, including Switchgear, HVAC, and Operations, as needed Travel to customer locations as required (approximately 30%+ travel) Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent U.S. citizenship required Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30% or more Ability to learn basic AC/DC electrical theory Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to work safely with personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow lockout/tagout and arc-flash safety procedures Experience with UPS, battery, DC power, or critical facilities (preferred) Familiarity with multimeters, amp clamps, or battery test equipment (preferred) Offered compensation: $27/hr - $40/hr Experience and License Requirements AC/DC theory (optional) UPS battery systems maintenance (optional)
