Job Description
Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Fiber Technician II / Fiber Splicer to support fiber optic infrastructure projects across client environments. This individual will be responsible for the installation, splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fiber optic networks. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with fiber optic cabling, ribbon splicing, fusion splicing, fiber testing, and network infrastructure deployments in fast-paced field environments. Skills and Requirements 2-4+ years of fiber optic installation experienceExperience installing, terminating, testing, troubleshooting, and splicing fiber optic cabling.
Proficient with both single-mode (SMF) and multi-mode (MMF) fiber systems.
Experience with high count strand fiber 288Experience terminating various fiber connectors including LC, SC, ST, FC, SMA, FDDI, and MPO/MTP.Ability to perform mechanical and fusion splicing, including building entrance, maintenance, and direct-buried splices.
Experience testing and troubleshooting fiber using:
OTDRFluke DTX 180Power Meter/Light Source (PMLS)Ability to identify and resolve network and end-to-end fiber issues.
Basic copper cabling and termination experience, including
