Electrical & Instrumentation Technician (E&I Technician) Waynesboro, MS Compensation

  • 401(k) Are you an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Technician looking for a stable career with a growing industrial manufacturer?
Our client is a well-established industrial processing and manufacturing company that operates a highly automated facility focused on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement. They are seeking a hands-on E&I Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve critical electrical and instrumentation systems that keep plant operations running efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working with advanced control systems, and making a direct impact on plant performance. What You'll Do
  • Install, calibrate, and commission electrical and instrumentation equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical and control systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation, motors, sensors, transmitters, and control panels
  • Diagnose issues with PLCs, DCS systems, SCADA systems, MCCs, and process control equipment
  • Calibrate instruments and ensure equipment operates within specifications
  • Conduct testing and inspections to maintain quality and safety standards
  • Maintain maintenance records, calibration documentation, and equipment history
  • Update electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Support inventory management and spare parts tracking
  • Work closely with operations and engineering teams to improve reliability and plant efficiency
  • Assist with troubleshooting production and process-related issues
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that reduce downtime and increase performance What We're Looking For
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience as an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Chemical plant, processing plant, or heavy industrial experience preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting experience with PLCs, DCS systems, SCADA systems, and process instrumentation
  • Experience working with motors, motor controls, transmitters, sensors, and control panels
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and operating procedures
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs and equipment calibration
  • Forklift or industrial material handling equipment experience preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Instrumentation Technology, or related field preferred Safety and Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Ability to wear required PPE and safety equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairways
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at elevated heights
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, and varying weather conditions as needed
  • Must be able to pass a physical, respiratory screening, drug screening, and background check Schedule Requirements
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime when needed
