The Automation Technician will support various teams by delivering semi complex automation solutions that meet our customer needs. Services provided shall conform to the company specifications and be completed in accordance with project timelines. They must have a foundational understanding of RS 5000 Studio and HMI packages. Daily work activities will be directed by the department manager or senior team members. Essential Job Duties:
Review P&ID drawings, electrical schematics, rough sketches, and/or verbal instructions to produce desired functionality for various systems. Assist in end-to-end automation solutions for sustaining products. Support the development of simulation methods to aid in program development for production or service work orders. Assist with PLC programming for retro kits, sequencers, or new functionality for new production equipment, or existing equipment in the field. Assists with validating programs that offer additional control points, monitoring points, specialized process measurement; creates HMI graphics to enter associated settings. Setup, operate, diagnose various electric powered products. Duties:
40% Call Support, 20% Field Support, 40% Production Support. Additional Job Duties:
Support daily electric powered production and commissioning activities. Technical point of contact for Production, Customer Service, Field Engineering, etc. Basic knowledge of automation components, retro kits, sequencers, and programming. Understand the use and function of various measurement instruments; Fluke multimeter, current sensor, pressure sensors, dB(A) meter, vibrometer, etc. Able to accept training, continued education, and direction from team Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology; OR High School Diploma and 1+ year(s) of relevant electrical, automation and/or VFD and electrical motor experience. Basic understanding of Industrial Networking protocols (e.g., Modbus, BACnet). Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel up to 25% to job sites. Preferred Skills:
Skilled in ladder logic fundamental building blocks; (Rockwell PLCs, Studio 5000, RS 500). Basic understanding of electrical controls/components, 4-20mA signals, 480VAC power wiring, 120VAC control, 24VDC control, that control and monitor our systems. Basic knowledge with various HMIs. (IXDeveloper preferred). Able to perform hands on field mechanical and electrical system trouble shooting. Comfortable in a fast paced, rapid change environment; multi-task projects. Good communication and organizational skills with a focus on customer care. Advanced in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Physical Demands:
Exert force of 50-100 lbs. occasionally and 25-50 lbs. frequently, 10-20 lbs. constantly. Job Type:
