Access Laser Company is seeking a Laser Test Technician to complement our Production Team with testing and fine tuning some of the world's most impactful application-specific laser products.
Primary Duties:
Build, test, troubleshoot, and rework/repair electromechanical laser assemblies to production standards independently. Take responsibility for ensuring that all lasers meet the highest performance and quality standards. Utilize measurement and test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters, and network analyzers. Regularly report updates and any issues to the production lead to ensure smooth operations and clear communication. Work with the production, quality and engineering teams to update and maintain work instructions and data collection/reporting documents. Collaborate with other departments to productively address problems and implement solutions. Contribute to technical documentation and create reports of the work you do and the problems you solve. Perform quality work in a clean room and ESD controlled environment. Assist other departments or teams when needed, demonstrating a collaborative and team-oriented mindset to help achieve the overall success of the company. Use the ERP system to track jobs and production time. Contribute your expertise to continuous improvement and product improvement initiatives. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Standard Job Requirements:
An associate degree in physics, optics, photonics, electronics technology, mechanical engineering technology, or a similar field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. In-depth knowledge of electronics, optics, or mechanical manufacturing. Hands on experience with building, troubleshooting, and repairing electromechanical systems. Exceptional attention to detail. Ability to adapt to rapidly changing products and priorities. Ability to effectively contribute to a high-energy and highly collaborative environment. A high standard for communication and teamwork. Competence in maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Ability to lift up to 30lbs on a routine basis with the ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs, up to 5ft above ground.Highly Desirable Additional Skills/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in physics or another hard science 3 years' experience in a test or technician role in high tech manufacturing or a similar service organization. Experience with building and testing laser systems. Experience with lean manufacturing and 5S concepts. An understanding of, or previous experience with RF power supplies. Experience in handling optics and part of an assembly process. Self-motivated and driven to take on and excel in challenging work.
