Job Description

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeking a Hardware Engineering Technician working in our R D Automation Hardware group. This position will include testing proto type units and boards, troubleshooting existing equipment systems and boards and System level compliance scans. If you are interested in computer or controller hardware please apply. As a Hardware Engineering Technician, a typical day might include the following: Perform basic electronic hardware tests in accordance with defined engineering procedures or guidelines under the direction of engineers or more experienced technicians. Build engineering prototypes under the direction of an electrical engineer or experienced technician. Document prototype construction and maintain pertinent engineering records. Assist engineers in the evaluation of new electronic components. Assemble test fixtures, load banks, and other components common to product development. Provide support to engineering staff as needed. Process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) of modest complexity under the direction of engineers or more experienced technicians. Understand. Create. Simplify. Other duties as assigned. This job might be for you if: Two-year electronic technology or related associate degree Working knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits Familiarity with modern test equipment Familiarity with PLC and setting up or building computers Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment Background check results satisfactory to SEL Negative drug test result(s) It is a plus if you have: Familiarity with C and assembly languages Experience with O.S. and computer equipment Practical knowledge of 3-phase power systems Physical Requirements None Location Pullman, WA - SEL corporate office is located in Eastern Washington where you'll enjoy an unmatched quality of life.

Pay Range Data We anticipate filling this position as a Hardware Engineering Technician $ 32.88 - 48.60 per hour. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job and responsibility.
