Job Description

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a Hardware Engineering Technician working in our research and development division. This technician will be testing proto units and boards with a chance to perform investigative troubleshooting to the component level. If this sounds like you, please apply. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Perform basic electronic hardware tests in accordance with defined engineering procedures or guidelines under the direction of engineers or more experienced technicians. 2. Build engineering prototypes under the direction of an electrical engineer or experienced technician. Document prototype construction and maintain pertinent engineering records. 3. Assist engineers in the evaluation of new electronic components. 4. Assemble test fixtures, load banks, and other components common to product development. 5. Provide support to engineering staff as needed. 6. Process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) of modest complexity under the direction of engineers or more experienced technicians. 7. Understand. Create. Simplify. 8. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Two-year electronic technology or related associate degree Working knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits Familiarity with modern test equipment Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment Background check results satisfactory to SEL Negative drug test result(s) Preferred Qualifications Troubleshooting to the component level Familiarity with the Python language and scripting Experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems Working knowledge of IT equipment (Ethernet switches, TCP/IP address setup) Practical knowledge of 3-phase power systems Competitive pay. Pay Range Information:
$40.50 - $59.50 per hour. Our salary ranges are determined by job and responsibility.
