64.67 The Port of Seattle is unable to sponsor employment visas at this time. Some of what you'll be doing: As an Electronic Technician you will be responsible for the design, administration, maintenance, diagnostics, installation, and repair of various electronic systems. You will also be installing and configuring networking components such as Cisco switches, routers, servers, and workstations. You will be doing design, administration, maintenance, installation, and repair of complex electronic systems, server installation and maintenance, network infrastructure troubleshooting and repair. You will execute cybersecurity countermeasures, including server patching, firmware updates, and firewall configuration. You will provide field service and engineering support to systems such as Video Management System, Access Control, Terminal Wide Voice Paging, Baggage Sortation Systems, Parking Revenue Control Systems, Flight Information Management System (FIMS), Common Use System Environment (CUSE), 800 MHz Trunked Radio System, and numerous other electronic systems. You will be providing software support and troubleshooting for SQL databases, Windows and Linux applications, virtual machine clusters, network monitoring tools and unique airline applications.
Who you are:
Experienced
  • You have five (5) years experience in electronic and computer systems with hardware and software design, administration, and troubleshooting of complex systems. Desired
  • We hope you have an Associate Degree or certification from a recognized electronic technical school, or related program and ten (10) years of recent experience in complex computer-managed electronic systems. Committed to Equity

  • You may be required to work any and all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays. The work schedule includes day, swing, and graveyard shifts. Position will be required to participate in trouble call rotations. You may be required to work during emergencies. Work Environment
  • You will work indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions. You may be exposed to areas of high noise, various hazardous materials, work at heights, inside dusty and/or dirty environments, and/or in confined spaces, required to walk long distances, climb ladders, and/or lift items up to 30 pounds.   • Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle.   • You will be required to comply with all work rules, safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements. Security Requirements
  • As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance. In this role, you will be required to access Port of Seattle Police Department equipment, office locations, systems and/or vehicles. In compliance with Federal and State laws as the successful candidate, you will be required to pass a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) criminal history background check.   • This position is represented by International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers union, Local 46. Probationary Period
  • Probationary employees must work an equivalent to eight (8) months of continuous full-time work.
The probationary employee will be recognized as having attained Seniority status upon the successful completion of their probationary period. The probationary period may be extended by management, in consultation with the Union, based on the documented performance review completed by the supervisor, not to exceed a total of twelve (12) months worked. Pay
  • Probationary rate $64.
67. Once probation is completed, rate of pay will be $71.86.
