Job Description

Job Title:
Fiber Splicer (Data Center Construction) Job Summary We are seeking a Fiber Splicer to support data center construction projects. This role is responsible for the installation, termination, splicing, and testing of fiber optic cabling to ensure reliable network connectivity across high-density environments. Key Responsibilities Perform fusion splicing of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cables Terminate and install fiber optic cables into patch panels, cabinets, and enclosures Read and interpret construction drawings, splice diagrams, and fiber schedules Conduct fiber testing using OTDR, power meters, and light sources to verify performance Troubleshoot and repair damaged or underperforming fiber systems Maintain accurate splice records, test results, and project documentation Ensure proper cable routing, labeling, and management within data center environments Follow all safety procedures and job site requirements during installation and testing Required Qualifications 2+ years of fiber splicing experience (construction or telecom environment preferred) Experience with fusion splicing equipment and fiber testing tools (OTDR, power meter, etc.) Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fiber network diagrams Strong understanding of fiber types, splicing techniques, and cable management Ability to work in construction environments (ladders, lifts, confined spaces) Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting data center builds or structured cabling projects FOA certification or equivalent fiber training Experience with high-density fiber environments (ribbon fiber, trunk cables, etc.)
Compensation:
$35/hr to $35/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of employment, including options for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Eligibility to enroll in the 401(k) retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment. Additionally, employees in this role will have access to paid sick leave and other paid time off benefits as required under the applicable law of the worksite location.

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
