In this customer-facing role, you'll partner with manufacturers to recommend, implement, and troubleshoot automation products while working closely with internal sales and engineering teams. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in industrial automation, controls, PLCs, or field service who enjoys solving technical challenges and building strong customer relationships. Responsibilities Develop and maintain expert knowledge of industrial automation products, systems, and applications. Provide pre-sales technical support by reviewing customer specifications, recommending solutions, preparing bills of materials, and assisting with product selection. Deliver post-sales support, including troubleshooting, implementation assistance, product training, and technical guidance. Work alongside Account Managers and sales teams to develop automation solutions that meet customer needs. Identify opportunities to introduce new automation technologies and products to existing and prospective customers. Conduct installed base evaluations, network assessments, equipment startups, field service, and technical training. Utilize CRM software to document customer interactions, opportunities, and technical support activities. Stay current on emerging automation technologies, products, and industry trends. Deliver presentations, demonstrations, and training for customers and internal teams. Participate in customer visits, industry events, and trade shows. Qualifications Associate degree in Automation, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. 1-3 years of industrial automation, controls, or technical support experience, or 5+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree. Experience working directly with customers in a technical or industrial environment. Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, industrial controls, drives, sensors, networking, or automation systems. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and presentation abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks independently. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory, including occasional overnight travel. Preferred Qualifications Experience providing technical presentations or product demonstrations. Previous field service or commissioning experience. Familiarity with industrial networking, machine controls, or motion control systems. Experience working with automation manufacturers or electrical distribution.
