Job Description
Reporting directly to the Service & Project Manager, the Senior Combustion Technician is responsible for working in the field performing service, maintenance, start-ups and retrofits to boiler, burner, controls, instrumentation, and energy recovery system related to industrial steam and hot water system applications. More precisely, the Senior Combustion Technician has to: Provide onsite customer support, diagnostic and repair services related to specified systems; Work with project team on installation of burners, controls, instrumentation; System start-up and commissioning on specified systems; Safety device testing of critical system safety devices; Combustion efficiency analysis and tuning; General pipe fitting fundamentals related to associated systems; High pressure steam systems knowledge.
SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The person we are looking for will have the profile corresponding to the following skills: Technical skills : Journeyworker Service Piperfitter or ability/qualifications to join local unions; Journeyman steam competency preferred; Journeyman gas burner competency, master preferred; Journeyman oil burner competency, master preferred; High pressure piping Journeyman competency preferred; Power limited electrical competency preferred; Proven experience in a technical and service environment; Burner, boiler, combustion systems controls service and commissioning experience; Ability to technically diagnose and repair various boiler, burner, and plant master systems; Instrumentation calibration using various technical methods and specialty tools; Moderate to high computer skills; Familiarity with various related systems such asSCADA, PLC, BAS
systems; Experience operating forklifts; manlifts; lulls; job site equipment Valid Driver's license; OSHA 10 within last two years; Attention to working safely and proper use of tools and equipment. Non-technical skills : Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work; Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Accuracy and attention to detail; Strong problem solving ; Team player and strong interpersonal skills; Client focus with urgency and true commitment to customers; Ability to travel for extended periods, projects, and outages.Job Type:
