Job Title:
Field Test Technician Job Description The Field Test Technician provides hands-on technical support to engineering staff by testing equipment outdoors and documenting results in a clear and organized manner. This is a seasonal position that requires an individual who can work independently, demonstrate a pleasant and professional demeanor, and support engineering activities through both technical work and administrative documentation. Responsibilities Provide technical assistance and support to engineering personnel in the field. Conduct outdoor testing of equipment according to established procedures and guidelines. Operate and handle landscape and related test equipment safely and effectively. Troubleshoot basic mechanical and operational issues that arise during field testing. Accurately record, organize, and maintain test data and documentation. Follow instructions and work independently on assigned tasks with minimal supervision. Communicate clearly with team members to report test results, issues, and progress. Ensure that all work is performed in a safe manner and in compliance with company procedures. Essential Skills Mechanical inclination and the ability to understand how equipment operates. Basic troubleshooting skills for equipment and mechanical issues. Experience operating landscape equipment. Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks with minimal supervision. Strong administrative and documentation skills to record test results and activities. Willingness and ability to work outside for extended periods. Professional and pleasant demeanor when interacting with team members. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background or interest in engineering or technical fields. Ability to follow detailed procedures and testing protocols. Strong attention to detail when documenting test activities and outcomes. Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a seasonal role. Work Environment This is a seasonal, full-time role based outdoors for approximately 40 hours per week. The technician works primarily outside testing equipment in varying weather conditions. Work is dependent on weather; on rainy days, work may be paused, and there may be opportunities to make up hours as needed. The environment involves regular use of landscape and test equipment, so adherence to safety practices and appropriate outdoor work attire is important. The role offers a hands-on, field-based setting where independent work and collaboration with engineering staff are both valued. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Kohler, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
